HSE Changes Guidelines on First Aid Training
Did you know that on 31st December the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has changed guidelines and stated that all 1st Aid training providers must include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training as part of the 1st Aid at Work training courses?
The syllabuses for the 1st Aid at Work has been revised by HSE to ensure AED training is included. This change has come about due to the changes in resuscitation guidelines which spotlights the importance of AED when treating an unresponsive casualty who is also not breathing.
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification has 75 – 130 guided learning hours
How is the qualification assessed?
Coursework, Multiple Choice Examination, Oral Examination, Portfolio of Evidence, Practical Demonstration/Assignment, Practical Examination, Task-based Controlled Assessment, Written Examination. It is all dependant on the optional modules chosen.
There is one mandatory units and there will be 2-3 optional units depending on their credit value.
